    Default Protecting the Blade

So far only beater razors have felt the wrath of my slipped dremel.

How do you guys protect your blade edge while grinding and polishing?
Do you use some version of Bill Ellis's jig? Tape ? Or; some method of your own?

    advice appreciated...Thanks.

I made a jig resembling Bill's. It works great. Mine is bigger which is nice if I take it out of the workroom to work on a blade while watching tv or something. It fits nicely across my lap. Otherwise, all you really need is a flat surface that the blade can lay on while you sand etc. Bill also suggests to put two nails in your workbench (if you have one. A piece of wood would also do) to support the spine and the razor will just lay on the table while you sand.
