Default First Restoration - How did I do ?

I just finished my first restoration, a Wade & Butcher Medium Size Hollow Ground that I picked up on Ebay a while back. The scales, which I assume were original, were badly bug eaten horn. I re-scaled it with a piece of whitetail antler that I had laying around. I've made a few one-piece knife handles before, but this was my first attempt at anything like scales. I cleaned and polished the blade, and re-used the original pewter wedge.

Looks good to me! I was considering doing the same thing on my first restore, but haven't picked up the courarge yet to pull the old scales.

Very impressive. Good work! I know square end scales have their place, IMO can look very very nice and I'm sure are easier to balance since some of the end can be removed prior to finishing, I'm still a sucker for the traditionally shaped scales like you've done. Very cool.

I like it JutoII. Especially the whitetail antler, I haven't seen a lot of them on this forum.

If you are ashamed of it, end it to me, I have no pride.

Oh, yeah ! I already have several next "victims" waiting in the wings !

I'll let you know how it shaves as soon as I get it honed up - so many razors, so little time.
