So its a rust removal product, that also..... Cleans scales?

It's early hours of the AM (Thursday ) and I missed where you went from talking about rust removal to wanting dud scales.....

I think it has to do with cleaning rust from a blade with the scales still on... especially at the pivot point. It would be nice to have a product the you could basically saturate the pivot point under the scales with and be sure the rust will all go away. That sounds kind of like a magic bullet to me, but hey, it's worth a shot.

Exactly- If it works for me like the engineer has found it works in other applications it truly IS the magic bullet and will allow exactly that- rust removal for an entire blade scales still on and zero hand work.

Imagine a fleebay special with surface rust, a simple dip/soak and you know exactly what you have under there without descaling, sanding, grinding, etc.

It may even remove those black spots we all know without refinishing the blade.

First is testing for scale damage, then comes gold wash and black spot testing.
