I'm cleaning up my first old razo, so pardon the basic question. I have tendency to react to chemicals on my skin, and ifany of the residue from the metal polishes I used on the razor hits my face whil.e shaving I'm likely to be unhappy.

What do people do after polishing off the gunk to make sure the polish is completely gone? I've cleaned with scrub an bubbles but there still seems to be chemical residue. I saoked it in water and that worked great but left the blade oxidized so I just had to polish it again. Honing and stropping certainly help at edge of blade but there is still room for contact with skin obviously.

What do you typically do to get all the polsih chemicals off before shaving to avoid a reaction?
