    Default Phoenix cutlery Syracuse?

    Anyone ever heard of this? I picked up this razor to experiment with. It says "phoenix Diamond" on the blade and Phoenix cutlery, Syracuse NY on the tang. Any reason this wouldn't make a good shaver?

    Also, how do I tell scale material? I think it's celluloid, cause it smells kinda funky, almost like a fan belt thats slipping.
