Beautiful work. I'll add it to the list of things to save for.
These look very nice! I like the idea of getting a semi-custom blade blank and getting to pick out the final features that complete it.
Very nice work!!!
Steve

this what it is getting to add a little color
Got my smiling notch in the mail today. It's a beauty. Excited to get started on it. I'll be sure to post pics!
Thanks for making me feel like a slacker, Tim! :gaah: Looking good.
out of curiosity, what is so special about 52100 steel, and at what hardness do you plan to heat treat it?
its a high carbon ball bearnign steel
its got high strength for a high carbon steel as you know ball bearnings take a beating day in and out
it is known to hold a fine edge for long tim
it also holds a nice thin edge
i am running it at RC62-63 hard yes but the reward is when honed less need for touch ups
Didn't like the way the first set of scales turned out , so this is the second set. Tulip wood with paduck spacer.
