I recently won an auction lot and some of the razors are actually decent enough to keep around.

Of course, they do need some work to obtain a mirror finish, but right now I am just removing some minor corrosion to assess the steel.

Some of the blades really arent too bad off. One Boker in particular is in very good shape ... except for a slight corrosion haze on the blade.

Many moons ago I worked as a metal refinisher. I mainly worked with brass, but we did steel and aluminum from time to time. Anyways, This haze can be easily wiped out with a good buffing wheel.

I dont want to put the blade on a motorized wheel for loss of temper and fear of breakage.

I've had a go at it with some maas, but the maas doesnt have enough muscle.

Also, the etching is intact and I'd like to keep it. Luckily, the hazy bit is not located on the etching. The hazy bit is on the opposite side of the blade.

The blade has a pretty good finish overall, minus some minor water marks. I'd hate to take some sandpaper to a nice smooth finish just to lose some haze.

Any members here have any luck with some paste polishes that have more , for lack of a better term, oomph than maas?
