Hey all,

I'm doing my 3rd resto and I think this one will be my first that looks even close to some of the work you all do. I'll post pics when she's done.

Here's my questions:

The hole in the blade is bigger than the 1/16 brass rod that I pin with so there will always be a little wiggle room between the blade and the pin. Is there a way to fix this? I don't want to go with a bigger rod and washer because I think the rivet will get too big and ugly. I'm contemplating of some kind of insert into the hole in the blade to reduce the diameter down to snugly fit the 1/16 pin. Anyone deal with this successfully?

Also, I really want to bring out the grain in the Black Walnut that I made the scales out of. What oil / poly combos do you all recommend?

Thanks.

Doug
