My first succesful restoration
In this thread, I want to present two razors, I completely restored.
Both razors were in extreme bad condition, with severe rust on the blade and broken scales. I know, mirror polished blades are quite popular in his forum, but I don't do so with my blades. One reason is, I have no Dremel, all work was done by hand (each 1 week), and the other reason is, that I think, a few stains here and there are no shame for an old razor. I love the work of Maximilian and the other skilled resto-pros, but for me, some marks of age just belong to a vintage blade:
As said before, all work done by hand, as good as it gets. Especially the Butler is very hollow ground, removing the pitting to a higher degree would have destroyed the blade.
Plastic replacement scales were bought at theinvisbleedge.co.uk
Hope you enjoy my work. Positive and negative feedback always welcome!
