Carrie, I just completed a roll in maroon upholstery fabric. It is plush on the front and the back is a tight weave so I just turned the edges not as neat but serviceable . I will add about an inch or so to the width to make the pockets wider like Andy's. Send me your address off line and I will give you the 17x13 leather. I am at the post office daily with my wife's eBay shipping so it is no problem. I like the fabric and their is less chance of tanning residue affecting the blades.
Carrie I made one in fabric I like it better. Send me your address off line and I will give you the leather. I sent a long discription but it went away when I revised the spelling.
Here are some pictures of the fabric roll. On the next one I will try 15" width, a 1.5" pocket will fit my 7/8's better. I also will try Bias Bound seams and edges.
Did not hit the upload so here goes again.
That looks very nice. The only thought I have about the next one is to stitch twice between each pocket, to leave a generous 1/4 inch or so between the sides of adjacent pockets. This will make it easier to roll, and will help ensure that a fold of the flap gets between each of the exposed tangs and scales to keep them from rubbing together.
What do you use for punching the holes? Or are you using a sewing machine?
jreiter22,
I like that roll - more pouches - mmmm
plus I like the idea of expsoing a bit more razor - think I might do something similar on my next one.
I was wondering if I was to produce these razor rolls would there be any intrest???? they would be made of light weight canvas... if so what do you feel a reasonable charge would be?
