Here's an example of the stuff I make. It's a cd cabinet in Afromosia and Beech, build to the specs of the one that ordered it.

I'm in the process of putting together a small shop in the basement. I'll post pictures when I get a little farther along.
I was wondering are these tumblers or are you making dried fruit Lynn? :)

I like the little hole you have, to store the office chair in. Got to keep it safe with all that dust flying around.
Very nice and tidy shop. :nj A shop to aspire to! :bow I need to get mine organized as good.
One day I will have a workshop like that. At the moment my work shop is my desk and the small space on the balcony out side my room. The desk serves as my workshop, my office, my bookshelf, a place for my tea pot, and where my computer sits.
Heres mine

It is a work in progress...
Here in Florida your shop is either in your yard, A seperate building or in your garage, as in my case. I have my eye on a house in the Country with 12 acres. (That's a lot for Flordia, believe me) Once there, I'll have a proper shop. For now, the garage and my small bench area will have to do. Maybe some pics later.....
Wow I'm inspired to get the shop cleaned out this weekend...
Wish me luck!

Hey Undream,
How well does that Skil Bandsaw work? I need to pick up a bandsaw, and that seems to be the best deal available, however there have been very mixed reviews online about the product. For some people they say it works great after following the adjustment guidelines in the manual and others say that the saw is a load of dookey. What say you? Does it work well enough on hardwood and/or metal? and does it cut accurately and straight with the rip fence? Would you mind giving me a little mini review to assist me in my purchase? Thanks!
Well, I paid 95.00 for it, so, I didn't really expect the world from it.
My only attempt at ripping down stock wasn't very good -- but it was probably due to me being unexperienced and using a dull blade that was too thin (3/16") and had too many teeth per inch to be effective as a ripping blade.
I decided to wait to get a better blade for ripping stock.
Since then I've just been buying cheapo 1/8" blades and have been using it to rough blanks, spacers, etc. G-10 does a number on whatever blade I use though -- it kills them. as long as I stick to acrylics and wood it works awesome...
No problems so far with the operation of it, it runs smooth....and the two times that I've broken a blade, nothing bad happened. I know they say a well tuned band saw you shouldnt be breaking blades...well..when u are cutting micarta and stuff on a 1/8" blade,...its gonna happen I think... plus, im buying the $6 blades from lowes. might not be the best but they work for what I do...
Again, I'm probably using it more like a scroll saw than a true band saw..but at the price it has paid for itself IMO.
Awesome! Thanks a lot Brad. I think I will at least give it a go and see how it turns out. I'll let you know.
Here's my messy shop. I've shown these before and it still hasn't gotten any cleaner.
OK all of you neat freaks are just ****ing me off
and if you even think I am posting pics of my mess yer NUTZ....
Kilowatt- that's a sick Nova! Dust it off.
Please tell me someone else has a newbie "workshop" like this.
Microfasteners, sandpaper from 400 to 2000 grit, Dremel with red compound, Maas, electrical tape, a small file, gloves, a towel so the wife doesn't kill me, and an ugly wooden block with magnets inside it to hold my blades. :)

Commiecat we're in a similar range.
You're not alone :)
Since my workshop just happens to be where ever I am at the time. Right now its an apartment in Texas about 8 hours away from my house. But don't think for a moment that I don't have hones, files, sandpaper, washers, rod, hammer, polish :) you know the normal stuff people travel with
Great pics everyone I hope to one day have a work shop as nice as some shown. When I am home my shop is pretty much my garage floor and a small table but I make it work!!!
Randy, while I haven't seen your basement, your upper and lower garage shops aren't bad at all. Mine gets so full of junk and things I don't put away that I know it's time to reorganize only when I can't step around and over things any longer.

LOL. I feel in such good company.
'Chaos Theory' couldn't describe my work areas :roflmao:roflmao:roflmao
My little slice of heaven....
rrp1501 ~~ I like the "Eye of Sauron". :p
I want a big magnifier like that :D
I was kind of drawn to that magnifier too.Hey,Ramon, where can we get one of those?(and how expensive is it?)
I'l take that Super Sport, promise I'll give it a good home, 70 miles from Daytona....
My family and friends will not let me have a shop. They are afraid I will hurt myself or someone else.
It's one of those "Friends don't let Friends drink and drive situations.
It's not that I'm clumsy - its just that some people have no business around machinery.
