Default Magnetic sanding block with clamp

After getting cramp in my fingers from holding the razor while handsanding I decided to make a magnetic sanding block too. It's a pine block roughly measuring 13.5 x 8.5 x 3.5cm. The two magnets have a diameter of 3cm. I used plexiglass to support the spine. Both the plexiglass and metal are taped to the pine block with doublesided tape.

For the surface I first used plastic from a CD box, it worked great but wore out quickly. Then I tried 2.5mm thick metal but that left the surface hardly magnetic. Finally I used 0.3mm thick metal. Not sure how long this surface will last but it works great.

With the sanding block clamped to my desk I can hand sand using just one finger
