Joh. Engstrom work in progress
So after my last miserable attempt at making scales (all by hand) I asked my grandpa to get out the scroll saw and a belt sander. This made everything more accurate and 100 times better. Let me know what you think.
Birdseye maple
Going to replace micro fasteners with all brass hardware.
Blade is a Joh. Engstrom Ran-Tan Ka-Rus Red Devil made in sweden
Thinking CA finish or some oil. Any suggestions appreciated!
Thanks for looking
The Wedge was lose cause i hadn't tightened the micro fastener completely. It sits flush with the scales

Looks good! What's the wedge made of? Make sure you post pictures when it's all done.
Here's a couple threads I bookmarked, for when I make some wooden scales, if you haven't seen them....
