Yesterday I was so excited to open a package from the evil masters of Ebay, I had sent along $75.00 for this


It is just beautiful and I was only mildly disappointed to hear a fateful "ting" when I opened the blade, the little warning bell that says "warped scales". I posted a message in the "show and tell" forum and "keenedge" linked me to this post by "gssixgun"

That is , of course, a thoughtful and craftsman-like post by a person who is obviously used to doing things right. The problem is that my brain went numb as soon as he wrote "build a jig". His solution guided me to think for nearly 30 seconds about how I might attack the problem, and I came up with this:

The cheapskate clothespin wedges gave enough support for me to gradually bend things back into shape after a 10-15 second dunk. As with other adult activities, make sure she's hot enough before you try out your flashiest moves, then proceed with loving care.

Note that I had smarts enough to tape the edge of the blade.

The blade opens and closes beautifully now and by the way, this thing shaves like a charm. Thanks again everyone for the guidance.
