    Default Question regarding a site:

Devin Thomas "A Master of Exotic Damascus Patterns"

This is just curiousity, but he has Highcarbon/nickel damascus "exotic patterns" at the bottom for $15/inch of 5/4"x1/8". Couldn't you use these as blanks, get them ground into blades and have a damascus blade for $75-90 plus the cost of grinding?

I'm not an expert but that does not look like Damascus to me.

It says Damascus patterns, not Damascus steel. Sort of like "genuine imitation ivory" me thinks.....

Patterned steel is often called Damascus:

Here's a knife with a blade made from this guy's steel. It looks pretty good to me!

He's a friend of mine actually- live's close by. I should give him a call, haven't seen him in a while.

Also, you do NOT want to use any pure nickel in Damascus that will be used for a straight razor.
