Thanked: 48ebay dubl duck slight pitting can be sanded out?
I'm considering bidding for this razor. Is it still possible and/or advisable to sand out the remaining pits? Can I get a clean mirror finish? Thanks!

Item number is 110477080221. I pulled it out of the link, and then immediately recognized Undream's photography...
First I thought "Bradzilla must be getting lazy, posting such a dirty blade." Then I thought "It doesn't matter what it looks like, it's a GoldEdge and people are gonna throw in their whole wallet no matter what it looks like."Last edited by holli4pirating; 01-10-2010 at 05:09 AM.

If I had one like that... and I do
.... I just leave them alone. A bit of Semichriome and call it good. As long as the pitting, or more like staining, is not in the bevel it is purely cosmetic. If cosmetic is your thing wait and find one that isn't stained. Pay a bit more but you don't have to deal with sanding/polishing a very very thin blade.

Thanked: 48Tried to fix the link. Thanks for the advice, I'm new at ebay razor hunting and proceeding carefully. Hoping to get some clean vintages I like in the $100 or so range, and would like to try my hand at light restoring as well.

Maybe you just missed it, but he answered your question at the bottom of the page.
Q: hi, can i still sand it down further to het rid of the pitting? thanks!
A: You could, yes. I would suggest hand-sanding, however, because it is a full hollow blade. Power tools + full hollow = common disaster
Nice looking razor - Doubt it'll stay at that price though.

Thanked: 2591This is already restored razor, as the description says. I am 99% sure it is sold by our member Undream. That brown mug is present in probably all his resto pics.
