Thanked: 2591you can't get mirror with a tumbler. You can get close and then you have to polish with compounds.
Here the tumbler thread:

if you would check the sticky in the Workshop forum, you will find a lot of very useful info on restorationStefan

I've never seen a blade polished by compounds up close but I can get a pretty spectacular mirror off the tumbler. I've found the down side to be it rounds off all the grind lines on the blades. On some that doesn't matter but it takes some of the character out of the older wedges IMHO.

Thanked: 1936Smoked one & got new one in the mail today. Lyman Pro Magnum 2500. It's wispering a few feet away from me as I type this. MUCH quieter than my older Cabela's one, but it's just got one blade in it vs. a couple hundred rounds of .45 brass.
You can get a pretty good finish if you follow the thread listed above...Southeastern Oklahoma/Northeastern Texas helper. Please don't hesitate to contact me.
Thank you and God Bless, Scott
