Bought an old 9/16 adoration axe wedge from an antique shop for 5 dollars. Boy did this thing look sad, i think it had been sitting in salt water for the last few years. blade rusted to hell and the scales looked awful. But i wanted something to learn how to restore on. After learning everything not to do i finally finished this project tonight. This was the first razor i have ever tried to clean and the first one i have honed. I scratched the hell out of the blade when i was sanding it trying to get all the pitting out. the scratches are as deep as the pitting but i figured i would move forward anyways. I honed starting with 220 to set the bevel and went all the way up to 12k, finished on Cromium Oxide and stropped it. Just shaved with it and WOW. It felt like the blade never touched my face and talk about BBS. This is the best shave i have ever had. Even better than my brand new Dovo that i had a local shop hone (I don't know what there process was). For only being 4 months into the str8 shaving experience i am absolutely hooked.
