    Here is a set of carved scales I finished today. They are black walnut.

    Nope, here is both sets. The first one was maple and had more leaves.

    Those look great. Did you ever figure out a workable method for using the dremel, or did you just stick with hand tools

    Actually I did. I flattened the end of a nail and sharpened the edges like a tiny arrow head and it carves quite nicely.
