    Default Some shameless self promotion

I was thinking that you might enjoy having a look at what I'm working on now. It's a Bengall Hand forged 4/8ths. Honing the big chips out of a 4/8ths blade didn't seem like a good idea to me. So I have decided to chop it and make a mini razor, or coochie razor if you like. As I progress I will upload more pictures for you. Here is the first one.

The toe is cut. Now I have to re-shape the toe.

By the way, I used a diamond file to cut the toe. I will be using another diamond file to re-shape the toe.

I did one myself a while back, it's an excellent shaver. Everyone who tries it out wants it, even the Boss: http://straightrazorpalace.com/works...ern-input.html

Sounds like a fun project. nothing goes to waste. I like that spirit. Can't wait to see the finished razor.

Here is today's update. I have cut off and re-shaped the toe. I shaped it with a diamond file. Then, because I've wanted to try it for a while, I cut some file work into the spine. The last thing I have done today is give it a bit of a sanding with 360 grit wet n dry paper.

In the picture of the file work you can see my workshop/desk/office/tea room.

How hard was the blade to shape? I've a few shitty blades here, I've been tossing the idea around.

Tell us about that diamond file - what kind, where you got it, etc. Seems like worth adding to the tool box. thx
