A small anvil and a 4 oz ball peen hammer. Make sure only the pin touches the anvil (not the scales), and gently tap the top pin. IIRC new Dovo's have rivits, not pins, so you have to tap the right side - don't remember if it's front or back off the top of my head, though. I've seen some guys say you can use spoons instead of a hammer and anvil, but that never worked for me.

Like Dylan said, a light peining hammer on the proper side of the rivet will do the trick. VERY light taps, though. Light enough that if you miss and hit your thumb it won't hurt. If you don't have one, a heavy soup-spoon will also do the trick with a higher number of taps- and leave a very nice finish.

Re: The proper side of the rivet:
One side is a solid machined head. Don't hit this. You want to tap on the side with a washer that has been peined before- mushroomed out to fit, rather than machined to be a head. If that isn't clear, I can get you some pictures.

    Best of luck!

+1 on what Ben said. It should be the rounder side.

Weird... I thought the rivited side was flat. My bad. See what happens when you don't look at your razors enough?
