2oz - 4oz very polished ball-peen on the business end, the other side I kinda like the Chasing hammer for other work
I have a 4oz Starrett with a half round on the other end that I use for the final finish peens on customs...
I like the selection here, thy even have a 1 Oz which will be great for nice rounding of the pins.
Hammers: Ball Peen Hammers, Small hammers at MicroMark
I got my 4 oz one from eBay.
I like a Craftsman 4oz peening hammer for getting started, but also use a half round after it.
I have a 2oz, but rarely use it.
Have fun,
Lynn
I think mine is about 4 oz, but I think I might like something a little smaller. I have used a table spoon on occasion and like that. Its awfully flat, but I like the weight.
I've got a 4oz from a yardsale and a 1oz that my dad found in his "workshop" I'm still working on getting the 1oz cleaned up but they both work. I feel like I really have to choke up on the 4 otherwise I'm worried I'd annilate my pins but it works
Alembic,
I got a 1.5 oz ball pein hammer, and a tiny anvil (looks really cute !!) from a model tool supplier, and they really have improved my pinning :)
Have fun !
Best regards
Russ
I think my ball pein hammer is 8 oz. It was the smallest one they had in the shop I went to. It seems to work fine, but I do "choke up" on it and hold it near the head.
