Almost forgot, there is a thick carpet remnant by my workbench for a reason.
Am I the only one who thinks that can be a new point? Why dont you smooth out the rough edges, maybe give it an artists touch and call it a "Cdogg point"
Personally, I'd shorten it and keep the square point, if it was my razor :)
But, then again I like short razors, and I'm not too fond of round points :)
Wow, thanks to all for the many responses, ideas, and offers to help! I never expected to receive so many so quickly.
Now that I'm discusted with myself for doing this in the first place, I'm gun-shy about grinding the blade myself, for fear of completely ruining it.
I have made arrangements with a member here to have the blade re-ground, trying to creatively salvage the squarish-point of the blade. If anyone besides me is curious about the outcome, I will be happy to post an update when I get it back.
Thanks again for all of the suggestions, especially the scrap carpet idea (that one will stick, for sure!).
Absolutely let us know, and with pics too. You know how us voyeurs are...
This Eyre is fixed, and heading back home...
Chad asked for the Black Horn on the broken Eyre then sent a Greaves along for new scales to be done in the reverse with almost pure Honey horn...
BTW nothing, not one micon of length, was lost on the re-contour of the point...
This is the point I was trying to draw with the computer :D I knew I could very slowly work the curve and bring it right to the broken point...

Beautiful scales, and the new point works really well. Very cool.
Glenn,
I can't stop looking at these photos, both of them turned out to be beautiful razors
I was certain that I'd ruined that Eyre with my carelessness, and you took it and made into something really special. In all honesty, I think it looks even better now than before I chipped it!
I also love what you've done with the scales, they're perfectly shaped and truly unique. Definitely first class customs!
Thank you sincerely for your help and for your top shelf service - I can't wait to put these puppies to work!

Looks great Glenn, but what happened to:w the gold plating from the first photo?
