Tablespoon Peening on a Sledgehammer Anvil

Nothing special here- first effort.

1840-ish Joseph Smith & Sons Wedge. It arrived badly scratched from some prior attempt at cleaning, and the washers were flat brass with pins peened so smooth they looked machine made. The pins and washers looked as appropriate as spinners on an amish buggy.

I wanted domed washers, and pins peened with facets, like they might have settled for in the 1840's. And it deserved to have the scratches removed, but still have the "character" 170 years service has earned it the right to have.

Thanks to Tony, (Bando) for the tip on drilling holes into the head of my hand sledge and using those to dome the washers, and thanks to Glen for telling us it's okay to use a tablespoon as a peening hammer.

And thanks to Sham for the tutorial on double taping, if necessary, in order to get a decent bevel on wedges with the kind of hone wear this old lady has on her, and again to Glen for the video on honing those smiling razors.
