Final wax finish on CA glue necessary?
So... after much reading on the many CA threads, I am unable to see any references to having just a highly buffed/polished CA finish with no wax topcoat. That is - unless my eyes and fatigue are deceiving me.
I have multiple coats of CA on my first set of hand-shaped scales and have done all of my sanding so that the shiny spots are all but gone. So my questions are as follows: Can I put a final finish on them by sanding to a higher and higher grit? I have to micromesh pads that go up to 12000 grit. Will that work, or is it necessary to apply a wax finish? Is there any downside to not putting a wax topcoat on - such as degradation of the finish over time?
Thanks for the advice. And if this has already been covered, my apologies.
