De-bolstering old scales.
Does anyone know of any effective means of removing metal bolsters from scales?
I'm in the process of restoring an FWE razor and the scales have some pretty slick bolsters that I'd like to transfer to the ones I'm making. The problem is that they're on the old scales really well. It seems as though there is some sort of glue/epoxy/acrylic/whatever that is glazed over the bolsters. I think the old scales might be celluloid, so I was thinking maybe I could just submerge them in hot water until they contort enough that I could remove the bolsters.
...I hope they're called bolsters. I hope I'm not way off on this one
