Great job! Maybe you can explain for the uninitiated what procedure you used to clean up that blade.

In un-pinned the blade then hand sanded on progressively finer grits of sand paper then wet and dry but I used WD40 as a lubricant while sanding. Then I used metal polish (Autosol) and a cloth until I remembered that I had a felt pad for my rotary tool so buffed it with that and Autosol.
Having read the modified engraving tool as a peening hammer thread I realized I could do similar with the carving head attachment for my rotary tool so didThe pin was one I had in my tool box, I thought it was brass but seems as though it was just a gold colour on the outside. I think I would be better with proper brass rod which I will get for next time.

You've done a great job with this razor. Looks like you resused the original scales, well done.

I concur with all of the above. You did a masterful job getting that old rust bucket to looking good again.
I just love those big blade razors. They look so good restored..
Nice work mate!-- Any day I get out of bed, and the first thing out of my mouth is not a groan, that's going to be a good day --
