There is no internal washers but they can be put in less than 10 seconds if neccesary (that's big advantage of adjustable pins).
Btw. this is just for showing up. I have to polish and hone blade too.
I agree with you. With adjustable pin to make changes to the design easier.
King, did you have to trim the bolt? Once you add the internal washers there may not be much thread left.
Looking forward to seeing those scales.

Yes they do. To prevent this I have used a few methods: peening the bolt, drop of melted wax on nut and CA glue. I just went right back to pinning after a while. I still use microfasteners for the setup and testing.Quote:

I might have to give these a try (with the thread lock). Several of the restores I've attempted have ended in disappointment when I cracked the scales attempting to repin the razor back together with traditional peened pins.
All pins loosen ..
The Adjustable ones loosen easier and are also easier to tighten.
The Peened ones take longer to loosen but are a bit more challenging to tighten..

I have used them on like 12 razors now, and I have found that indeed, if you do not peen them over properly, the will work loose in time. As a matter of fact, they will work loose in the mail, sending to be honed, if not properly peened over as well.Quote:

Throw it out, and re-do it when your done. I tighten as I go. after about 15-20 peen taps, the nut starts to loosen. Tighten it, and resume peening. After another 20-30 peen taps, check it again. Pretty soon, it's on there tight as could be, and cannot work loose again.
I learned this lesson the hard way, buy having one come practically off en-route to my home. By the time it got here, it was hangin on by a thread, literally. It could have been a bigger problem in just a few more days had the blade come free completely.
I leave about 1/8" of extra bolt after trimming, then peen that sucker like crazy till it stays tight on it's own.
It's an art... :)
I'm doing much better at making real peened pins now though. I'm still going to use up what Micro's I have left...
