Thanked: 46My first try with adjustable pins
Finally, adjustable pins arrive so there is a final result (ignore the pitting on the blade it's in progress of restauration):
Btw. wrenches from microfasteners.com for these pins are really cool

Hello.
Good job. Carefully and beautifully ...
Internal washers are not installed?
Sincerely,
Alexander

Thanked: 46There is no internal washers but they can be put in less than 10 seconds if neccesary (that's big advantage of adjustable pins).
Btw. this is just for showing up. I have to polish and hone blade too.

I agree with you. With adjustable pin to make changes to the design easier.

King, did you have to trim the bolt? Once you add the internal washers there may not be much thread left.
Looking forward to seeing those scales.

Thanked: 46Yes I did (trim the bolt).
I think I will not add inner washer (there is no real need to do that). Blade is centered perfectly, it opens and closes perfectly, gap between scales (tension from spacer) is OK so I do not see any need for internal washers.
But maybe I am wrong?????
I will post step by step photos when all is finished.

Thanked: 114I'm curious to know whether or not the adjustable nuts loosen over time?

Thanked: 114I might have to give these a try (with the thread lock). Several of the restores I've attempted have ended in disappointment when I cracked the scales attempting to repin the razor back together with traditional peened pins.
