So I'm working on my first few restoration projects and I'm curious how hot can the blade get before you need to be concerned about loosing the temper of the steel when polishing. I keep a tray of cold water next to me while I'm working on the blades and I find myself stopping every minute or so to cool the blade off which is a little annoying but I don't want to risk damaging them. Is this a little overboard?
