Better yet, Google "40f to c" :p
Or even better, start using the g damn Metric system!!!

Or take the F temp and: Subtract 32, divide by 9, multiply by 5 to get celsius. To go back, divide by 5, multiply by 9, add 32.
Speaking of TEMPERATURES...
Josh's razor got the ole sub zero quench. That means everything is lined up with the world. I may be able to get to finishing it in one more day... or there abouts. :)
Your leaders signed the metric treaty at the same time mine (Swedish) did, hundred some years ago. We changed right away you didn't.
I'm glad we did. Before we whent metric we had two different inches and a ton of strange measures.
We will not have to learn French, those days are long gone. Now English is the lingua franca of the world. What will the next be? Chinese? Almost a third of the worlds pop speaks it already. It's like the old Monty Python song says :-)
(I can't use the smileys, strange) This is all said on a humourus note I'm not arguing.
Mats
Nope.
More like "I like Chinese.
I like Chinese.
There's nine hundred million of them in the world today.
You'd better learn to like them; that's what I say."
That is an old song.

Except in America   :gthQuote:

:HJ uh hmmmm... think maybe Josh will want to read about his razor or the metric system? It's pretty easy to start a new thread... :D
Not yet, Bill. He's not allowed to look, even though he probably has this page bookmarked from an alternate IP where he's acting as a lurker :nj
So how about some more pics Bill? At least let us see that "Bos anodized" stainless!
Of course you know, if you wanted to be really, REALLY ubercool it'd be a scale release auto razor. I wonder if Josh knows that dance scene from "West Side Story?" :p

Just so ya know what heat treated steel looks like fresh out of the oven and liquid nitrogen bath... here is what we look like so far.

Ain't that purdy? Anybody think I should just put it on the scales this way? I suppose I could sharpen it a tad with an 80 grit stone.
Heck, just send all the pieces individually wrapped with a note: "Some assembly required." :roflmao
Great filework Bill, really takes advantage of all that real estate.
Jack
Bill, that is really going to look nice you do super work. I like the idea of sending it in pieces with some assembly required with a touch of honing. :w
"Almost there."
"Stay on target."
Al-most there ..."
"Stay on target!"

I would like a razor with that finish in some scales, but with atleast 8000 grit finish :) I thought of putting one of my carbon DOVO's in a white vinegar bath to make it like that. It is a popular way of blackening professional chief's carbon knifes. I might do that some day.
Nenad
That looks neat. Kind of reminds me of the titanium oxide finishes on some knives and zippos; the rainbow of bronzish-metalic coulours.
I like it too. It's like raku pottery. And for some reason has a "cowboy" feel to it. I have no idea why I think that.
John
I think that the collective Honemeisters should announce a new pricing schedule. Something like; "All razors honed to shave ready condition - $20.00 (Unless the razor is over 11/8, in which case the charge is $200.)"
I know you guys were aware of the hole in the blade. Here is what I did with it...
http://home.comcast.net/~cherylellis01/SRP/josh.020.jpg
What'll y'all allow on that? :hmmm:
This was good. It made me laugh. I like the idea of sending it in pieces. Maybe one piece every two weeks... baaa ha ha ha ha. :roflmaoQuote:

Bill, you keep coming up with those surprises and you'll put every other razor-maker to shame.
Out of curiosity.. The pivot pin hole seems rather small, indicating the need for a more rigid rod stock than plain ol' brass. What will you be using?
Bill, this is a work of beauty.
The decoration around that pinhole is a work of art.
My only remark is purely personal cosmetic perference: for me, I'd rather have a smooth spine, with a hollowing in the side of the spine, like they sometimes use to hollow out the sides of the spine of a katana.
But that is just taste of course, and detracts nothing from the quality, nor beauty of your work.
Nice mosaic Bill, that had to be a royal PITA to grind and polish with the blade. I've got a 3/16" mosaic pin that I'd thought of using as a third pin in some scales but ... IN THE BLADE?! You're a glutton for punishment, aren't you? :nj
Jack
Si Senor Bill the hat btw is cool, That blade is out of this world. Did you polish it by hand, I believe mclean3 mentioned that you should do it by hand. :w The mosaic pin really adds class to that blade. :tu I am going to have to come up with something really cool, well cool for my talents anyway.
Amazing, simply amazing.
mclean3, you are perfectly right I apologize. Cutz, however, would be that mean.
Razor is done... pics coming up tonight... gotta process them. Where's the marquee thingie, anyhow?
It's in a thread titled "No Grinches Allowed" or something like that.

This will probably take two posts to get in the last of the pics for now. Now all I have to worry about is if I can get the thing sharp enough to shave... :D
If not, I guess it'll just be an expensive kitchen knife...

OMG Bill..............I am at a loss for words...........that is beautiful. Josh will love it.:tu
Holy snapping duck shit !!!!!!! That is titanic.
I'm thinking Alien vs Predator.
Bill, you continually amaze and inspire.
And I even like the hat oh Obi Wan :bow
Gary
WOW! And that maple burl. WOW! Beautiful.
