    Default Replacing Covered Tangs

I’m working on restoring a razor with missing tang covers. Any creative ideas on how to cheaply create new covers for this razor? Thanks.

You have to replace the covers, I have used acrylic on most, but Ivory Micarta and Micarta in general works really nice too

I have seen them done with wood but you better make sure it is waterproof...
    Hirlau and karlej like this.

Them ‘there are some nice looking scales, Glen!

Thanks for the quick response. I will experiment. I have some Micarta pieces I can play with.

VERY NICE! I love the red. Hmmm….maybe I'll have to find one of these and send it to you.

Nice scales Glen. Can you tell me where you got the acrylic material? I like the red. I think I saw a set in blue that Max did somewere in this forum.

I don't know what to say, diyguy.
I have one sitting in oil now for 6 months, just like yours. I will follow this thread to see what they suggest for you; then I will have some ideas.
