Default Cleaning bone or ivory scales

I have a razor with some nice scales I want to save--they're either bone or ivory. The ends have some chipping, which has dirt in it and looks bad. Near the wedge one of the scales is cracked on the pin.

Any tips for cleaning these scales up and maybe patching that crack? I'd rather not unpin the razor, since I don't have the experience to repin it well.

    Thanks,
    Josh

You'd have to separate the scales before doing any serious work on'em and you'd be running the risk of destroying them completely.. There is a REMOTE possibility of fixing that crack by pouring some very thin CA into it like Hot Stuff but no guarantees.
