    Default 1830s John Barber Resto

    I don't post much any more, but thought maybe you guys would like seeing this.

    I've had this razor for almost 2 years now. I hand sanded and then oiled it and put it away. I acquired some faux tortise horn scale material a while ago and also just put it away. Today, I finally had time to get them together.

    You can see I messed up the pivot just slightly. It's a hair off center.


    All in all I like it. I needed to do some sanding on the scales, as there are still several deep scratches on the edges from roughing the scales, but I only had an hour to work, so i hit the high points. Also, I'm not sure what those three lines are on the front scale. They just opened up, so I'm assuming a void in the scale?
