Fusion scales
I was sitting at home relaxing, perusing the depths of the SRP and came across fusion scales. Other than the actual thread that was started I haven't really seen anybody latch on to the concept. I thought it was pretty neat. Not that I would have in on every razor but still cool. How come you don't see more? Just curious.

Fusion scales
Ohh, I was expecting to see a Gillette Fusion pinned into some buffalo horn or G10 lol.
If I'm not mistaken those scales are by Gábor Buddel, you might find more with a search for his name.

Thanked: 247My mind shudders to imagine the difficulty involved with pulling that off successfully.

My Gillette Pro Fusion has a nice set of them. I think they are just plastic, but they have this cool power button you can push to make the whiskers get all excited, stand way up and get cut off nicely at skin level. Even better, when the blades get dull, I can put a new set on and that is much easier than honing and stropping. I even dropped the razor once, and they didn't even break.

Thanked: 13250There was quite a bit of "Fusion" scale work done about 3-4 years ago.. Not sure why it died out, the process is not that difficult, there are a few How To's on the forum

Thanked: 44Those scales are sick. I imagine that the reason it hasn't caught on is because the number of people who have the skill, dexterity, and patience to make such a thing are far and few between.
