I was cleaning up a Giesen & Forsthoff "Adoration" razor when I heard it, "snap." Quick, cold and plastic. Of course it was the scale that said "Adoration." Better now than later after getting it cleaned up I suppose. I'm a little bummed, but I guess the blade will get a nice new place to rest between work.

You might be able to glue it or use a liner to hold it together.

I was considering repair, but the scales have pretty much crumbled with further inspection. I could have been a bit more gentle, but it is clear they weren't going to last much longer anyway. I'm not at the point where I want to start making my own scales and not for this razor, but I think I can find someone around here to help me with some new scales

Well it looks like a nice razor so I would definitely get a new set of scales for it. Is it just the picture or do I see a frown?

It seems to be a pretty good razor. There is a frown there, but I am hoping it'll hone out!

I've shaved with frowning razors and lived to discuss it. One option is not to "hone it out", but just hone it properly, and the frown will disappear over time. You can't put steel back on a razor.

If the scales are celuloid you can simply weld them together with acetone.
