Default Finished my Case Brothers modified

So I bought this really cheaply some while back, savagely rusted and in some obvious replacement scales that were pretty rough too.

I've worked on it in fits and starts as I got motivated, first knocking the bulk of the rust off with a sandblaster using 50 micron aluminum oxide at 80 psi. Then with low grit sandpaper to start to bring it to smooth (er) again.

Then I decided to grind out the really pitty, weak swiss cheesy area at the toe. At which point I also decided to change the tail and the heel, and to put in a thumb notch and some bottom jimps. After which I finished sanding it as best as it was gonna go anyway, then polished it up real nicely.

I also sanded those scales smooth and polished them up as well. Then I let it all sit while I worked on other things.

Just yesterday I decided to see if I could find some brass rod and washers in town here. Unfortunately the only washers I could find were stainless. I had saved the wedge and the thrust bearings from before I unpinned it.

Then today I did my first repinning job. I think it all went back together nicely, though I still don't really like the scales, it was what I had available, so I made do.

It sits tight and closes very close to dead perfect center. I'm feeling pretty good about it right now!

I'll hone it up this weekend probably. I'm really looking forward to seeing how it feels in my hand with the altered tail and thumb notch and jimps. I like the way the point came out also. I'm pretty happy with it.
