It's a little long way to walk!
How about take a plastic container, make a hole for the shaft and cut it so you can get your hand and razor in there easily, not that hard.
I have made similar things for polishing machines, splash shield and all.

No Tom, No! Bad! No Biscuit!
Check your grinder speed! If I recall, they are high speed. (have not used a post grinder since ...long ago!)
of course it CAN be done, but a lathe is really not the sort of thing that should be getting wet. If I ever get a real setup to do this sort of thing, I will install a water system. Is anybody in here a math wiz that can figure out the speed of my grinding setup? I honestly think its only around 700 rpm. which is nice and slow. I would slow it down even more if I could. Wait till I get my 20" wheel!
On the last picture, was the first time we got to see the maker stamp of this razor, Suy Louvain, that said "Suy" is the maker and "Louvain" is a city in Belgium.

Inoxydable, so it's stainless or such!
Lets see about your speed now, if you have a 3 in pully on the motor running to a 6 in, you'll get half the speed, from 1750 to 875.
Ehh, then I don't know what you use for the speed, in Europe we use m/s.
No way this razor is stainless. On the backside of the tang is a heart with 3 (?) inside it. I wonder if that can help narrow the age range?
It sure shaves nice! only one weeper, and only slight irritation on a 2 pass to smooth. I'm sure I was just using too much pressure (been using lighter weight razors the last week) and need to adjust a bit.
Well I get your grinding speed to 252 in/s!
or 1260 ft/min
