    Default Laser etched scales

I have been playing around with making scales and I thought laser etching would be cool. I want to do more intricate designs but this set was a test.

    That looks really good!

What sort of a laser do you have? Can it engrave harder surfaces like stell and brass?

    Regards,
    Neil

I don't own one. I got the local awards/plaque shop to do it. They engrave brass with it I believe. I know we get glass bottles done all the time for going away gifts. I got a bottle of Glenmorangie 12 yr with our squadron patch and some words. If I can do up art work at 300dpi two tone color then they can engrave it. I was wondering about metal as well since Dovo etches with a laser. They use some sort of lacquer too I believe. I know the glass bottles are reflective so you can get some funny shadowing from the laser. Curved edges are a problem too.

That scale looks very nice, though I do hope you were not driving at the time you took the picture.
