Default Honing and restoration in San Diego?

    Hello all,
Pretty new to these forums and straight razors. I'm looking for a place in San Diego to professionally hone my new razor and cleaned up. The only place I've really been able to find is The Sharpening Shack in Chula Vista. Anyone have any experience with them? Or have other shops you'd recommend?
    Thanks

The odds are against you from the past results posted here with any walk in shops..

If you go, the question to ask is "Do you shave with a straight razor daily" not "Have you ever" not "Have you sharpened one before"
If the guy doing the honing is not a actual SR shaver then he cannot "hone" (pun intended) his skills to achieve a sharp comfortable edge..

That was a solid pun you threw in there. I appreciate the advice. I'll remember that.

Did you ever find anyone in SD? I live east of you in the desert and am looking for the same.

I used to be in the San Diego area. Matt Forget at the Sharpening Shack did all of my restorations and honing. He does great work. Tell him that Joshua Clark sent you to him.
