I have a Clauss that has had the edge ground, whether to take out a nick, or for some other, more diabolical reason I'm not sure. Anyway, it has been blunted thoroughly.

I am working it on a 1K Norton, and am starting to see a bevel, but the edge is still blunt. Under a 100x scope, it looks like a flat plane perpendicular to the blade.

Will I ever be able to regain a shavable edge, or am I just wasting time sharpening a letter opener ?
