    Default hone for Iwasaki

I am picking up an Iwasaki and am trying to decide what hone to pickup. There seem to be a smattering of opinions, but I was wondering if those that have honed one would mind sharing what worked best for them.

I currently have 4K/8K shapton glass stones and a chromium oxide paddle strop, so that key finishing hone is what I am keeping my eye out for.

    Thank you!

I was told that the most suited for the Iwasaki is the Nakayama, a little pricey for my purse, so the second choice was a Okudo Suita, one is on my way.

Actually a diamond pasted strop is the best vehicle for the Iwasaki. It is very hard and you'll be spending alot of quality time with the hone if you go that route.

I'm really tempted to try one of these, too. If I do, what paste routine did you use? I have 1.0 diamond, 0.5 diamond, and 0.5 chrome at home now, but I really don't have any experience using them to hone new blades. Is the 1.0 coarse enough to start?
