Thanked: 4Canadian Source for Shapton Hones?
Finding these at less than retail seems to be a lost cause.
Is there a canadian distributor so I can at least avoid brokerage fees and duty?
Thanks,

Bob, chances are that even if you come across a local distributor, you'll still get dinged with customs/brokerage and an additional markup. That's what I found out searching for Spyderco UF. You might as well order from the manufacturer and see if they'd be willing to ship via USPS (less of a chance of getting dinged, but you probably will considering the declared value). At least you'll pay $5 in brokerage instead of $20.

Thanked: 4Not quite payday yet.
The listed price.
That they will ship usps to canada makes me happy
The 16k is on my list.
I think I will have to spend a fair bit of time with it before I can tell myself I need (lol) the 30k but I'm also fairly sure it will happen.
I've been finding that more time spent with my 12k before the 3M chromium paper pays better dividend than my .25 diamond grit strop. I'm not sure how you guy manage to use the .25.
I find it almost impossible not to overhone my edge when my wapis even look at the .25. The little tuna and my Silver don't seem to mind the .25 but I'm also not sure it is an improvement over the .5 chromium. This could be a technique issue but I find the distribution of grit on a strop tends to cut llittle scratches that are visible while the 3m paper polishes a nice shine. Then the edge crumbles. Maybe I need to massage my strop?
I'm hoping the step between 12k and chromium is a bit of a crutch for my tendency to have heavy hands.
