Sorry to jump around with this but I really want to use this Torrey, I think. A gentleman here in Canada told me it's for someone to use on you, alluding to purpose in design. But it can be used by yourself?

That said, one side is decidedly flat. How do you hone it? Do you hone the one side that has and angle/hollow, counting your passes then tape the other side? Setting the bevel, how much tape is allowed, well advisable maybe a better word on the flat side? Do you hone the flat side or just the hollowed. If yes, then will the edge crumble having only one side of the blade honed? Help.

Yes I will send it out eventually, but I want to learn how this is done for myself first.
