Last nignt I worked on the TI for about an hour and half. I got back on it this morning and did another hour. I ended up doing 5 sets of 20 circles on the 1K Norton. If that sounds like a lot that is what it took. Every set of 20 I would check the bevel with a 14X eye loupe. I then did a large pyramid on the 4K/8K and finished on the 12 and the 15K. Stropped and got a pretty good shave but the razor needs a bit more attention. .I have a Corian base and magnetic felt on the way from HandAmerican along with some Chromium Oxide so as soon as I get it I will give that a try. My advice to Kingreverent is to send the razor out ot one of the honemiesters unless you have a background in advanced knife sharpening with hones. I have a lot of knife sharpening behind me but if I hadn't seen my friend Chris set bevels and work chips out of straights I wouldn't have had an idea of how to go about working that double to a single bevel. Anyhow it is doable.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.
