Norton nagura + GlassStones
I really like the way the Norton Synthetic Nagura cleans and prepares the surface of my GlassStones. This was recommended to me a year or so ago on a knife sharpening forum when I complained about experiencing skipping and chatter on GlassStones. The Norton Nagura really does a good job of cleaning swarf stains and prepping the surface without lapping. I scrub the GlassStones on the surface and top edges and then rinse off the slurry before each razor session.

Thanked: 4942Sounds cool, but how is it different from lapping? How many times would you do this without lapping? If there is more swarf accumulation in a particular area, would that area after several nagura treatments be out of flat? I normally lap pretty lightly after every session on the glass stones. I wonder if this is more for the occasional swarf cleaning.
Thanks,
Lynn

Thanked: 13245I just rub the whole stone after I get done honing about two razors, then rinse the stone... But the problem arises for you Lynn that with as many razors as you hone it is probably more effective for you to just lap after every session... You do about as many razors per day, as I do per week, so it might not make as much sense for you....
