Dunno what to tell ya, my ceramics are 800, and 8000, but I have no idea what the diamonds are. just that they are course as paving stones, I don't think they are even going to touch my knives, unless I really need to hog off some steel. I guess play with it and see what works. I'm also using more of a "brushing" action on the stone, I hope that makes sense. very little pressure, lots of water, just scoring the surface.
