Thanked: 131Gentlemen,
I have now shaved with the Wade and Butcher and I can safely say that Bart has made wonderful work of the razor. He came highly recommended and justifiably so. His work was exemplary. I had never shaved with a wedge before tonight. Bart had warned me that if this was the case then i'd best be careful since wedges are less forgiving than hollows.
Razor: Wade and Butcher custom honed by Bart (the offending article)
Soap: Geo F Trumpers lime
Brush: Best badger hair brush
Aftercare: Colleen's experimental aftershave
I took Barts advice and kept it to two passes- once WTG and once XTG. I usually stick to that anyway as my skin is sensitive. I had two days growth so wanted to take extra care. I prep'd and lathered up well and began with great care. It was super smooth. The hair was taken off with virtually no effort and I barely felt the razor glide over my skin. Gentlemen this man is a master craftsman and in my book has earned the title 'honemeister'. He has overcome a number of challenges in this project and has the patience of a saint.
I'd like very much for two things to come from this. Firstly i'd encourage anyone but particularly other Europeans to make use of Barts skill (can you tell i'm a happy customer? Perhaps you could help teach me to hone Bart?) and secondly I would propose this:
Is there any possibility that a wiki article could be written to summarize the discoveries, experiences and knowledge gained from this experience? I just think it would be great if we could help others avoid this problem in the future. Is this a good idea?
Anyways, a HUGE thanks go out to Bart.
What a legend.
