Default The difference between a shave and a great shave

Technique, proper prep, knowing your face.... these things make a big difference. But without a properly maintained razor, a baby butt smooth shave AIN'T gonna happen. Under a 200x scope, here's what an edge looks like when it's ready for some TLC.

And here's what quality steel looks like after a good honing and finishing with a Chromium Oxide pasted strop.

With the regular touch ups I'm not sure if my razors will last to many generations..... need a larger rotation

    Nice pictures there!

What is the minimum magnification needed to be able to see that?

Also very cool. Thanks for sharing with us.

Bang goes the theory that 200x is too much to be useful.

Assuming you can manage 200x of such fine quality, of course!

Nice 200X images. It reminds me of this 50X to 400X zoom shot of a razor blade: Image Library [Material Science : Razor blade]
