Thanked: 1Help for a Japanese straight razor
Hey everyone, Im pretty sure ive asked about this on the forum before, but cant remember, I was just wondering if anyone was close to needing to hone their japanese straight razor? Ive looked all over the internet, forums, youtube but all I find are worded explainations, I have trouble reading something and putting it into practice, If I can see what Iam supposed to be doing through pictures or videos, it helps alot. So I was wondering if anyone would be so kind as to show me through pictures or a video, how to hone my tosuke razor. Thanks alot, I look forward to a response.

I'll move this to honing where it will probably get more attention.

BTW I use this method. I have stones that this method works better than the American method.

I use Japanese finishing stones and stick to the 3:2 ratio, laying my fingers on the blade's edge and stone and using very slight pressure.
It's always worked out just fine without putting more thought into it than that.

What stones do you plan to use and what condition are you starting from?
